A brief history of Thorworld Industries - Suppliers of dock lifts and dock loading equipment

Mr John Meale, who is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport F.C.I.L.T. founded THORWORLD Industries in 1981. Since this date the company's product line has grown extensively from two products, dock plates and dock boards, to over 40 different products today, including our extensive range of truck loaders, dock loaders, dock lifts, truckloada, mobile truck loaders and porta docks.

Business has now spread worldwide with customers in Sweden, Belgium, France, Holland, Germany and many more. We are members of the Association of Loading and Elevating Manufacturers, (ALEM) and the British Materials Handling Federation (BMHF), through which we are affiliated with FEM Europe.

John is a past President of ALEM and has recently completed his 2 year term as President of the British Materials Handling Federation. He has now been confirmed as a board member of FEM, which is the
European Federation of Materials Handling and as such Thorworld is a leader of developments within the industry.

The company now plans to extend its product line further to increase sales within its existing and new markets and maintain its well established and well deserved corporate image.
